Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has issued the following reminder to fishermen:
The recreational and commercial harvest of shallow-water groupers (including gag grouper, black grouper, red grouper, scamp, red hind, rock hind, coney, graysby, yellowfin grouper, yellowmouth grouper and tiger grouper) is prohibited from January 1-April 30, 2011 in all state and federal Atlantic Ocean waters and Monroe County state waters off Florida.
